We've built incredible relationships with farmers in Vietnam to directly source only the best handpicked coffee beans to craft a new and exciting coffee experience for you. Our journey began when we realized New Zealand was missing the magic of locally roasted high grade premium Vietnamese coffee. Contrary to prevailing trends in the specialty coffee industry of leaning towards 100% arabica beans from farms in Africa and South America, the May Coffee Crew decided it was time to shake things up, turning the spotlight on Vietnamese coffee and the mighty Robusta bean which have both been overlooked and underrepresented in our New Zealand coffee market.
Fast forward to today, and we're now roasting up in Auckland! Our green coffee beans are sourced directly from Vietnamese farmers and small batch roasted right here in Aotearoa with love and care for maximum freshness.
But we're not stopping there – May Coffee Crew is on a mission to make a positive impact both in our local communities and in Vietnam, and we’ve begun by donating trees to build an organic coffee farm in the central highlands of Vietnam. These coffee trees are now just a few months old, and it typically takes about 5 years before their beans can be harvested. We're dedicated to supporting our Vietnamese farming partner in caring for these trees over their lifespan. While this is our first initiative, we're excited to see what impact we can have in the future, we're brewing change, one cup at a time.
